 Lockdown

Lockdown is a situation in which people are now not allowed to enter or leave a building or area freely because of an emergency. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the term has become familiar to us. It is a requirement for us to do stay where we are, usually due to specific risks to ourselves or to others if we can more freely. The term “stay-at-home” or “shutdown” is often used for lockdown. Lockdown can also be used to protect people inside a facility or from a threat or other external event. As the new coronavirus or Covid-19 spreads, the term is being used to mean more general and widespread restrictions on movement, work, and travel for all people in the city, region, or country. Partial lockdown means the doors outside of the building are locked so that people may not exit or enter the building. A complete lockdown implies that the people in the given area must stay where they are and must not exit or enter a building or given area. Lockdown measures in response to the coronavirus disease 2019. The covid-19 pandemic has serious effects on the population. Especially, in vulnerable groups, such as those living in poor socio-economic conditions. Moreover, millions of enterprises face an existential threat. Without the means to earn an income during lockdowns, many are unable to feed themselves and their families and they are also doing very hard work to lead their life. Border closers and confinement measures have been preventing farmers from accessing markets, including buying inputs and selling their produce. In low-income countries, the most marginalized populations, which include small-scale farmers and indigenous peoples are being hardest hit.
