Coronavirus

Covid-19 is a disease caused by a replacement strain of coronavirus. From the virus name, if we define the word coronavirus we can get  “CO” stands for corona, “VI” stands for the virus, and “D” stands for disease. Formerly, the disease was mentioned as “2019” novel coronavirus. It can affect our upper respiratory system (sinuses, nose, and throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe, and lungs). It was identified in December 2019 in Wuhan city, China. Officials confirm a case of covid-19 in Thailand. The primary recorder case outside of China. Symptoms can appear 2-14 days or (2 weeks) after exposure to the threatful virus. Common signs and symptoms can include fever, dry cough, and tiredness. Early symptoms of Covid-19 or coronavirus may include a loss of taste or smell. Other symptoms can include shortness of breath, muscle aches, pharyngitis, runny nose, headache, etc. The virus causing the disease spreads mainly through the air when people are near one another. It leaves an infected person as they breathe, cough, sneeze, or speak and enter another person via their mouth, nose or eyes, and other parts of the body. It might also spread via contaminated surfaces. People remain infectious for up to two weeks. And can spread the coronavirus even if they do not have symptoms. The Covid-19 virus infects people of all ages. However, evidence to date suggests that two groups of people are at a better risk of getting severe Covid-19 disease. These are older people (25-70); and those with underlying medical conditions. We can prevent Covid-19 by social distancing, wearing a face mask in public, ventilation and air filtering, hand washing, covering one’s mouth when sneezing or coughing, disinfecting surfaces, and monitoring and self-isolation for people exposed or symptomatic.
