California Gold Rush Story
There’s a California gold rush story that tells of two brothers who sold all that they had and went prospecting for gold. They found a vein of the shining ore, staked a claim, and got to the intense business of getting the gold ore of the mine.
All went well initially, then again a weird thing happened. The vein of gold disappeared! That they had come to the top of the rainbow, and therefore the pot of gold was not there. The brothers continued to choose away, but without success. Finally, they gave up in disgust.
They sold their equipment and claim rights for some hundred dollars, and took the train back home. Now, the person who bought the claim hired an engineer to look at the rock strata of the mine. The engineer advised him to continue digging within the same spot where the previous owners had left off. And three feet deeper, the new owner struck gold.
A little more persistence and also the two brothers would are millionaires themselves. There’s gold in you, too. Must one dig three feet farther?
